THAT EDIT THING

ONE of the many things I currently am is  a 3rd year Mass Communication student. One of the many things I (besides writing news) do  is edit videos. I've probably been doing this not for the longest time yet though. So yeah...I am not "that" good at it yet. I aspire to become one of the best editors though ;)

Still, I want to share to you guys what goes on and what editing is all about. From my perspective and from my experiences.

The good thing about my degree program is that it is broad. We don't just focus on news and writing them,  through some of the subjects we're able to explore, shoot and make videos. From short films to advertisements to music videos. Yes, we actually go through a lot!

My latest edits have been a documentary and a short film. Our theme for our project here is HORROR.

 TAGTUNGOD [A Documentary]

When you do editing, you have to make sure you know what you're doing with the video. Otherwise, the whole feel of it might come out wrong. In this case I had to look into so many documentary videos present online so I could get the gist of how a documentary video is supposed to look like. Research Research Research!

 MISSING [Short Film]

One of the matters that concerned me while editing both TAGTUNGOD and MISSING was that they are both in horror, and I am quite of a scaredy cat when it comes to these things. So I edited in the morning only. ( I couldn't bare hearing the scary sounds at night! O.O )

Hopefully I can have the time to upload all these videos online :3

 SANTERIA [Music Video]

You can view the music video HERE  :)

I THINK editing is not that easy of a job to do.But as long as you enjoy learning and you have the patience & perseverance to do it, you'll find it's actually a fun thing to be caught up into. I'm pretty sure you'll be editing more and more once you get to this part.

There are many softwares out there that you can use to edit videos. The most popular would be Adobe Premiere Pro & Sony Vegas. However, I use Cyberlink Power Director. It's actually not that hard to manipulate ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post. I'll be posting more soon. See ya!
 XOXO.
